CJC-1295 (with DAC)

Summary

CJC-1295 is a synthetic, long-acting analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) based on GRF(1-29). The "with DAC" version binds serum albumin to extend its half-life to roughly a week, stimulating GH and IGF-1 secretion. A shorter-acting no-DAC form (modified GRF 1-29) also exists. It is a research compound, not an approved medicine.

In Plain English

CJC-1295 is a long-lasting lab-made peptide that tells the body to release more of its own growth hormone, and it keeps working for days at a time. Researchers often pair it with other peptides to study a steadier release of growth hormone. It is a research compound, not an approved medicine.

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), engineered for a much longer duration of action than natural GHRH. It is studied for its ability to stimulate the body’s own growth hormone (GH) and IGF-1 release. The name usually refers to the “with DAC” version, which carries a drug-affinity-complex linker; a shorter-acting “no-DAC” form (modified GRF 1-29) also exists. This page is informational only.

How CJC-1295 works

CJC-1295 is built on the first 29 amino acids of GHRH — the active fragment GRF(1-29) — with substitutions that resist enzymatic breakdown. In the “with DAC” version, a maleimide-based drug-affinity-complex (DAC) linker on the C-terminal lysine binds covalently to circulating serum albumin after injection. Because albumin is long-lived in the bloodstream, this dramatically extends the peptide’s half-life and lets it stimulate pulsatile GH and IGF-1 secretion over days rather than minutes.

Reported effects in the research literature

In a published human study, single injections of CJC-1295 produced sustained increases in GH and IGF-1, with an estimated elimination half-life of roughly 5.8 to 8.1 days. Animal work showed that once-daily CJC-1295 could normalize growth in GHRH-deficient mice. Because it acts on the body’s own GHRH pathway, it is frequently discussed alongside GH secretagogues such as ipamorelin.

Clinical development did not continue to wide approval, and long-term safety in humans is not established. CJC-1295 is a research compound, not an approved medicine. The references below link to the primary studies and compound data.
