BPC-157
Summary
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in gastric juice. It has been studied mostly in animal models for tissue repair and gut protection. It is a research compound and is not FDA-approved; human clinical data is limited.

How it is studied
BPC-157 is a stable gastric pentadecapeptide. In animal research it has been investigated for effects on tendon, muscle and gut tissue healing and for interactions with growth-factor and nitric-oxide pathways. Most evidence comes from rodent models; well-controlled human trials are lacking.
Reported effects in the literature
Published animal studies report accelerated healing of connective tissue and protective effects on the gastrointestinal tract. These findings are preclinical and should not be read as evidence of safety or efficacy in humans.
